The one-day class is a modified version of the series that only focuses on labor and delivery. It is a good option for first-time parents unable to attend the five-week series, and an excellent refresher course for parents returning to the birth experience or women who will be attempting a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Compared to the 5-week series, this class involves more direct, instructor-led teaching with fewer group exercises in order to conserve time. All classes take place at Old Stone Church on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm followed by lunch on your own. Then the group meets up at 3 pm for a tour of Labor & Birth and postpartum units at Yale-New Haven Hospital (main campus) where class content is continued. If you've signed up for the maternity tour through the hospital, we highly recommend joining the class tour for the extra information our instructors like to review in the setting of the labor and birth room. We suggest you sign up for a course that will take place sometime after your 28th week but before your 37th week of pregnancy.
